A Good Plan Today, Beats a Perfect Plan Tomorrow

It was long [not that long either] since i published my last blog, tried many times to put up one but couldn't succeed as i was going through a lean patch[don't worry those days are over now],And this weekend i got a chance to watch a movie named 'The Edge' and believe me i was moved by what was portrayed in movie and decided to put up my second blog [yeah, yeah..... only second but many more to come]. 'The Edge' is all about betrayal, this word doesn't sound strange for those in Love [thank god i am not one of them]. Charles Morse (billionaire magazine publisher) along with his wife [a model and much younger to him] and his ambitious employee Bob goes out for a photo shoot in mountainous region. Charles was very possessive about his wife, and thought Bob is after his wife or money or maybe both. Charles had a feeling that Bob will kill him, not sure how and when. One day Charles along with Bob, one of their common friend went out in search of something and their plane crashes on the way leaving Charles, Bob and their friend in middle of the dangerous wilderness where man eating bears were always on hunt for food. And then starts their struggle to get out of there, Charles was the man Bob penned his hopes on. Charles religiously worked on taking Bob out of that wilderness as they lost their friend to the bear but Bob had some other plans. After days of struggle and some thoughtful moves, Charles was able to guide Bob to a safer place. And Bob turns chameleon and almost killed Charles but couldn't succeed as he fell into a pit hole during the attempt.Bob was certain that Charles would leave him there but generous Charles pull him out and tends his wounds.
Charles knew Bob will kill him, despite this fact he helped him out ....... not sure whether Charles did the right but.......... I'm sure there are only few Charles around in the world full of Bobs.

This is the still where Charles and Bob confronted the bear after Charles decided to kill the bear as it continues to hunt them relentlessly. And this was the moment when he said 'A Good Plan Today, Beats a Perfect Plan Tomorrow' and indeed they beat the bear with today's good plan rather then waiting for tomorrow's perfect plan. Hope, you guys out there got the message loud and clear, never wait for tomorrow's perfect plan, do it with today's good plan.

  1. good review for 'The Edge' movie. I would like to see the movie now. I guess the best bollywood movie which is based on same 'betrayal' theme is 'Omkara'... anyways I agree with the 'kal kare so aaj kar thing'... which you said very well in english: 'A Good Plan Today, Beats a Perfect Plan Tomorrow'
I believe this is a good thought.

  4. I saw this movie last weekend and I really liked it. I have become a fan of Charles [Anthony Hopkins]. He was screened as such an intelligent person. He must be drinking who said,'be yourself'... I like to be as intelligent as Charles :p
@Manveen: I wish you a rendezvous with yours 'cute' man-eater beast. Best of Luck. I hope you have brains like Charles otherwise... God bless you... rest in Peace :) Ha ha
